>>The Wedding Ceremony

Two’s Company will play light background music as the guests are arriving and then there will usually be three pieces of music as part of the ceremony:

>>The Processional

This is music played for the bride’s arrival and the bridal party’s procession down the aisle; as the journey typically takes between 30 seconds and a minute only a short extract is needed. A traditional piece often played for the bridal entry is Wagner’s Bridal Chorus (also known as “Here Comes the Bride”), others choose a different classical piece such as Hornpipe in D (Water Music) by Handel or The Trumpet Voluntary (Prince of Denmark’s March) by Clarke. Some prefer a more modern approach and Amy has sung pop songs such as “The Power of Love” by Jennifer Rush.

>>The Signing of the Register

Gentle music is usually played during the signing of the register; a common choice is Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Other ideas for a classical piece include Air on a G String (Bach) and Movements from Divertimenti (Mozart). Again you may wish to select some pop music; we can arrange pop music to be sung, or alternatively it can be played instrumentally on violin and guitar.

>>The Recessional

As you leave the ceremony walking down the aisle as husband and wife, you will want music that is joyful and celebratory. A traditional recessional piece is Wedding March from a Midsummer Night’s Dream by Mendelssohn, others include Spring from the four seasons by Vivaldi, The Arrival of The Queen of Sheba by Handel or why not have an upbeat folk piece such as The Bridal?

>>Drinks Reception & Wedding Breakfast

We often provide background music for the drinks reception or wedding breakfast and have a wide repertoire of classical, pop, folk and jazz. You may request individual pieces, or simply a style of music that you like or you could ask us to provide a variety of material to suit the wide range of musical tastes amongst your wedding guests!

* Requests should be placed at least a month in advance of the wedding day and a small extra charge may be added to cover the costs of extra rehearsals
